While the songs are top notch, music is the usual E Street Band drive along the highway of broken dreams amid tempo changes, wailing guitars and a lone harmonica moan.

If ‘Magic’ was an outpour of fury at the Bush administration, ‘Working on a Dream’ is a gush of love and optimism for the new administration (Springsteen campaigned for Obama).

Overall the album has good electrifying effect except for a few filers like Tomorrow Never Knows. As ‘Outlaw Pete’ takes listeners back to the good old days of the Born to Run era, Lucky Days sets spirit soaring high with the classic sax solo. And in between are some great numbers like ‘Working on a Dream’ and ‘The Wrestler’ that won the Golden Globe.

It was nine years ago when Enrique Iglesias first unleashed his brand of Latin love on millions of people and now he’s back again with another brilliant pop album. Guess it’s just a reminder of many of his brilliant pop singles top charts. Hero, Tired of being sorry, Do you know (ping-pong song), the list is endless.

Nineteen hit numbers in one album, it’s doomed to be a block buster. Except few fillers ‘Maybe’ and ‘Addicted’ (didn’t prove itself on the charts) and ‘Somebody’s Me’, which stalled at #162 last year, it’s something most people will enjoy.

What’s missing though is his Spanish language songs -one or two could have been an icing on the cake. But this isn’t quite enough to diminish this album’s overall effectiveness – it has some great numbers and most fans will love it.

The lyrics, melody and the one-dimensional drums, guitar and the very non-bollywood music touch, rather calls for a music album then a film. Guess sometimes you need a story to create music. Remember movies like Lal Dupata Malmal Ka, Phir Teri Khani Yad Ayee, they were box office flops but their music topped charts.

With almost new cast, Asmaa is releasing without any mega publicity. With hopes of a young soundtrack, courtesy the look of the film – more of a youthful touch and some great music, it certainly deserves a one play.

Certainly the next in the line is his first full fledged non-film album Tu hi mere rab ki tarah hai. It has some great songs and music but the only problem is they all sound alike. And ironically they sound like his previous works. Déjà vu right!

Can’t call it lack of creativity but this guy’s uniquely different voice is too prominent and his compositions borders too much on his soft and soulful slow progressions.

He’s tried to break in the pattern by bringing in some international musicians to play the harp, saxophone and guitars. And indeed has worked in his favor.

Despite the drawbacks, the album does bring in a good feely factor. And Sayeed Quadri’s lyrics give it a very inspirational tone but in terms of variety there is nothing to offer. Check out his latest album at planetradiocity.

Remember that song ‘Chhod Aaye Hum Woh Galiya’ from film ‘Maachis and ‘Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil’ from ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Popularly known as KK, K.K. Menon is a big name in the film industry, especially after winning this year’s best male singer award for his song Khuda Jaane.

Guess he is making news again with songs of Razz-The Mystery continues. Although the movie is box office flop, its music is topping charts. Sure will it. Don’t we download movies or songs from the internet all the time before it’s out? Interestingly its not only you and me, everyone does that. So much so, that nobody thinks there is anything wrong with it.

Have you ever thought how much goes into making a film or a music album? It’s a lot of money and hard work which goes down the drain the moment you download a film from the internet.

But sources say it’s the inside people who sell the prints even before it’s released. Guess there’s a need to tighten the Bollywood policing. And interestingly many Bollywood actors are joining hands in this fight.

Mirror mirror on the wall who’s the prettiest of them all – Kareena or Katrina. They are both beautiful right – but guess to be at the top you got to be more than just a pretty face. Look at Madhuri Dixit – she ruled the silver screen for many years not for her looks but for her stupendous performance.

Certainly Kareena Kapoor has taken some ‘baby steps’- her recent performance in Jab We Met. The movie was a box hit and she was praised a lot for her acting. Does this make her the next queen of Bollywood? After five flops, one hit does not make you the best. She is doing a good job with Saif and her zero-figure but needs to work more to prove her ‘acting’ mettle.

Next in the line is Katrina Kaif. She’s given five hits back to back – Namastey London, Apne, Partner, Welcome and Race, this year. And is supposedly in a stardom war with Kareena – not sure for looks, acting or the Khan fraternity.

If not anything else, Katrina Kaif is for sure becoming the new face of this era, replaced even Aishwarya (remember the Nakshatra ad.). Being tagged as the sexiest woman by a magazine poll, she is getting paid almost Rs 50 lakh for a five minutes performance. Guess in looks department she is unbeatable.

Like most in his league, Sharukh Khan is trying on everything except acting to be successful.
