Who says Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band won’t hit it off? They already did for so many years since the Ford administration: 1975′s Born to Run. And this time they are back with Bruce Springsteen’s romantic sweep and E Street Band’s swaggering musical ambition.
While the songs are top notch, music is the usual E Street Band drive along the highway of broken dreams amid tempo changes, wailing guitars and a lone harmonica moan.
If ‘Magic’ was an outpour of fury at the Bush administration, ‘Working on a Dream’ is a gush of love and optimism for the new administration (Springsteen campaigned for Obama).
Overall the album has good electrifying effect except for a few filers like Tomorrow Never Knows. As ‘Outlaw Pete’ takes listeners back to the good old days of the Born to Run era, Lucky Days sets spirit soaring high with the classic sax solo. And in between are some great numbers like ‘Working on a Dream’ and ‘The Wrestler’ that won the Golden Globe.

Remember that peppy number from Dil Chahta Hai ‘Koi Kahe’. A similar composition is what this film Aasma brings in the voices of K.K. and Shaan. Perhaps a little unknown and small budgeted film, weaves in some great singers like Kailash Kher, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Shreya Ghoshal, K.K. and Shaan – A sure shot package to great music.
